4-H / FFA

What is 4-H?

  • 4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills as they work in partnership with caring adults. What does this mean? In 4-H we are committed to helping young people develop skills that will help the succeed. We want to empower all youth to reach their full potential. Youth members can participate in over 200 4-H projects and exhibit during the county fair in either the show ring or 4-H Building! Scioto County is proud of the program in which we have over 1,000 youth participants and nearly 250 volunteers!

What is FFA?

  • The FFA (formerly Future Farmers of America) is a national organization dedicated to preparing members for leadership and careers in the science, business, and technology of agriculture. Local, State, and national activities and award programs provide opportunities to apply knowledge and skills acquired through agriculture education. Within Scioto County, we have six schools offering Ag science education with over 150 youth participating in their local chapters!
