On behalf of the Scioto County Agricultural Society, I am writing this to give some updates regarding the Scioto County Fair set for August 10-15.
After careful consideration and discussion and due to circumstances out of our control, the Scioto County Fair Board has decided to cancel the Senior Fair portion of our annual event. This means that there will be no Midway rides, No games, vendors or entertainment.
This decision has been a very difficult one, but with the uncertainty of social distancing and mass gatherings for the summer related to the Covid 19 pandemic we feel that it is in the best interest of our community to make the decision at this time.
We are in the planning stages currently, of offering some type of Junior Fair for those children involved in 4H and FFA. This will take place during our scheduled fair week. We will be working in partnership with the Scioto County Health Department to make sure all safety guidelines are in place for this event. Please be aware that this is a very fluid situation and further details will be available regarding the Junior Fair procedures in the near future.
We will be using this time wisely to ensure that your experience at the 2021 Scioto County Fair will be bigger and better, and please continue to support those children who will be working on their 4H and FFA projects this summer.
